Dinner at the adorable Ristorante Piccolo
in Georgetown
Like Jason's birthday, we spent our first anniversary at home in many moons this year. We did all the usual anniversary things, like going out to dinner and watching our wedding videos and making red velvet cupcakes in memory of our red velvet wedding cake (that last one was new but delicious!).

For our wedding reception, we made a short video where we were "interviewed" about our relationship--how we met, what we thought of each other, our first date, getting engaged, etc.--so that our diverse guest list would know our story. It had been a few years since that video made the anniversary rotation, and as we were watching it this year, we couldn't help laughing at how different we were then...and how it seems now like we hardly knew each other, even after two and a half years of dating! It is probably always a gamble to marry someone, but oh, man, this is a gamble that has paid off big time.
